The familiar and reliable Lähitaksi takes care of various daily tasks for you when you cannot do them yourself or do not have the time. From grocery shopping to visits to the pharmacy and other matters, Lähitaksi handles these tasks effortlessly, reliably, and promptly.

Here's how Lähitaksi's shopping and transaction service works:​

  1. Prepare the shopping list on paper in advance.
  2. Order Lähitaksi by calling 0100 7300. Provide your exact address, including any possible door code, and your mobile phone number. Also, remember to mention that you are ordering Lähitaksi's shopping and transaction service.
  3. The car will come to you. Give the driver the shopping list, money for the purchase. 
  4. The driver will handle the errands on your behalf and bring the purchases, along with receipts and change, to your doorstep. They can also pick up the items you have already ordered from the local store, making the process faster and more cost-effective for you.
  5. You will pay the driver for the ride based on Lähitaksi's normal charge using the taxi meter. Additionally, any possible parking costs will be charged. You can pay in cash or by debit/credit card. If you choose to pay by card, please do so in the car, as the payment terminal does not work far from the vehicle.

Please note that the pickup of prescription medications is not possible; the customer must collect them from the pharmacy themselves.

1. Can I trust giving cash to the driver for the errands?

Our drivers are reliable and experienced professionals in the service industry. Remember to order the shopping and transaction service from Lähitaksi's booking center at the number 0100 7300. This way, we know which driver has handled your order, and we can reach out to them if necessary.

2. What if the products I want are not available at the store? What will the driver bring then?

Currently, there may be product shortages in grocery stores. Therefore, during the ordering process, please grant the driver permission for product substitutions if any of the items on your list are out of stock. Alternatively, you can choose to decline product substitutions, but this may result in some of your desired items not being delivered. It's a good idea to include alternative acceptable products on your shopping list. We also recommend having a flexible list, for example, instead of specifying a particular brand, you can write "skim milk" from any manufacturer. This will make the shopping process faster and more cost-effective for you.

3. How much does Lähitaksi's shopping and transaction service cost?

The service is priced according to Lähitaksi's regular metered taxi rates. You can trust that our drivers will handle the errands as swiftly and directly as possible. However, any traffic delays or queues at the store might extend the overall service time. The value-added tax (VAT) for goods transportation is 24%. You can find the price list for regular taxi rides (VAT 10%) on Lähitaksi's website.

4. Which store will the driver go to for the shopping?

You can choose the store yourself, but it is most cost-effective to select a small nearby store with a short distance to travel. Larger supermarkets may require more time to find items, and there could be more congestion and longer driving distances.

5. How can I estimate the cost of the shopping and transaction service in advance?

Lähitaksi's website offers a convenient fare calculator that allows you to estimate the taxi fare for your desired route at different times and days of the week. However, please note that the calculator cannot estimate the time spent on shopping errands.

6. Can I pay with a municipal card (Kuntakortti)?

The use of a municipal card requires that the customer is present in the vehicle. Therefore, the card cannot be used for the sole purpose of transporting goods.

7. What are the service hours?

Lähitaksi's shopping and transaction service is available 24/7, every day of the year.
